April feels a little extra special for us this year.
This month marks five years since we began our journey with RE/MAX, and it is hard to put into words just how much life and business has grown since April 2021. What started as a leap of faith has turned into something we are incredibly proud of, built on relationships, trust, and a whole lot of hard work.
Over the past five years, there have been busy seasons, challenging moments, big wins, and everything in between. But through it all, one thing has stayed the same. The people.
The families we have helped.
The clients who have become friends.
The support, the referrals, and the trust you place in us every single day.
And just as much as business has grown, so has life outside of it.
This month, Kris celebrated a milestone birthday, which gave us another reason to pause and reflect on how far things have come, not just professionally but personally too. Emma is about to complete her second year as a special education teacher and watching her grow into her passion has been incredibly rewarding.
At home, things are just as full. Link, our Yellow Lab, puppy, is now six months old and full of energy, keeping all of us on our toes. And Jax, our 10 year old Golden Retriever, has slowly stepped into his role as big dog brother.
We also want to share an update on the Living Ava’s Way Foundation. This year’s St. Baldrick’s event in Bondurant was an incredible success, raising over $15,000 for childhood cancer research. We are so thankful for everyone who showed up, donated, and supported such an important cause. Scholarship applications for 2026 will be reviewed this week, and we are currently working on scheduling our 2026 blood drive. More details to come, and as always, thank you for remembering and loving AVA.
These are the moments that remind us why we do what we do.
Real estate has never just been about buying or selling homes for us. It is about helping people create space for their lives to unfold.
Looking ahead to the rest of 2026, our goals remain simple and grounded. We want to continue showing up for people in a way that feels honest, steady, and supportive. Whether you are buying your first home, making a move for your family, or stepping into a new chapter, we are here to help guide you through it.
Five years in, and we still feel just as motivated as day one.
We are so thankful for every single person who has supported Hutch4Home along the way. You have trusted us with some of life’s biggest decisions, and that is something we will never take for granted.
Here’s to five years and everything that is still to come.

Last night was one of those moments that makes you pause, take a breath, and truly reflect.
We had the honor of celebrating an incredible year in business and receiving an award that means so much to us. It wasn’t just about the recognition. It was about everything behind it. The early mornings, the late nights, the problem solving, the conversations, the trust, and the relationships that made this year what it was.
We got dressed up, took a night to celebrate, and honestly… it had been a while since we had a reason to get fancy. While we are usually in showing-ready shoes, running between appointments, or answering messages on the go, this felt like a reminder that there is a time and a place to pause and celebrate the work, the people, and the journey.
More than anything, we feel incredibly thankful.
Thankful for the support.
Thankful for the encouragement.
Thankful for the referrals, the kind words, and the trust you place in us during some of life’s biggest moments.
We truly would not be here without this community.
As we look ahead to 2026, our focus stays simple and meaningful. We want to continue helping people in the way we always have. With honesty, care, hard work, and a commitment to making the process feel less stressful and more supported. Whether that means guiding a first-time buyer, helping a family move into their next chapter, or simply being a steady voice when decisions feel overwhelming, that is the work that matters most to us.
Awards are special, but people are everything.
We are so excited to see what this next year brings, who we will meet, and how we can continue serving this community we love.
Thank you for being part of our story.
We can’t wait to keep cheering you on in yours.

As we wrap up the year, we wanted to share a quick update from our home and our work. It has been a full and memorable year, and we are heading into the holidays feeling grateful, steady, and excited for what is ahead.
The biggest news at home has been welcoming our new puppy, Link. He is a yellow lab with plenty of energy and his own ideas about how things should run. Bringing a puppy into the mix has been fun and a little chaotic, and we are all adjusting at our own pace. Our golden retriever, Jax, who turns 10 on December 22, is taking his time warming up, but he is slowly coming around and showing signs of becoming a great big brother. Watching the two of them figure each other out has definitely added some entertainment to our days.
On the business side, the market has continued to shift with plenty of ups and downs, but we have stayed focused and steady. We are grateful for the clients who trusted us to help them buy or sell, and for those who reached out with questions, referrals, or simply to stay connected. Every conversation and every opportunity means a lot, and we appreciate all of it.
The Living Ava’s Way Foundation has also continued its work throughout the year. With the support of our community, we have been able to give back in ways that reflect kindness, connection, and purpose. We look forward to continuing that work in 2026.
As we head into the holiday season, we are looking forward to family time, good food, and a little reset before the new year begins. We hope the season brings you the same sense of warmth, rest, and joy.
Thank you for being part of our world and for supporting us in the work we love. We are ready for 2026 and excited to help even more people find their first, next, or forever home.
Warm holiday wishes,
Joni & Kris Hutchinson
Fall is in full swing, and what a season it’s been so far! Kris just completed his first full marathon, 26.2 miles of grit and determination, and we couldn’t be prouder. Between cheering him on and keeping up with the rapidly changing seasons, it’s been a busy, beautiful time of year.
Business has been steady, and we’re so grateful for the clients who continue to trust us to help them buy and sell their homes. This season always reminds us how important “home” truly is, and we look forward to helping even more people find their place before the year wraps up.
This fall also marked Ava’s 9th Annual Blood Drive, and we’re humbled by the continued support from our community. Over the years, 638 units of blood have been collected and 129 first-time donors have rolled up their sleeves in Ava’s honor. Each donation helps save lives, and we’re incredibly thankful to everyone who has shown up year after year.
Through the Living Ava’s Way Foundation, we were also able to complete Ava’s Garden project, donate to the local school food pantry and the Ronald McDonald House. As a family we joined the walk supporting Des Moines Public Schools. It’s an honor to give back in ways that build kindness and community.
Next up, we’ll be handing out candy at the Bondurant Chamber of Commerce Business Safe Trick or Treat, one of our favorite fall traditions.
As we head into the holidays, we’re reflecting on what matters most: health, home, and community. Thank you for being part of ours.
With gratitude,
Joni & Kris Hutchinson
As summer winds down, we just want to take a moment to say thank you. This season has been full of sunshine, laughter, community, and thanks to you, lots of new memories made. From helping clients step into new chapters to reconnecting with familiar faces, we’re so grateful to be a part of it all.
We’ve also taken some time to soak up Iowa summer, whether it was catching an Iowa Cubs game (fireworks included!), going to the Iowa State Fair (and eating all the good food, of course!) or watching the sky fill with color at the National Balloon Fest. These moments remind us why we love calling Iowa home.
To our current clients, thank you for trusting us. To our past clients, we’re always here when you need us, whether it’s questions about the market, advice on your home, or just catching up. And to our friends and family, thank you for the referrals, encouragement, and love.
As we move into fall, we’re excited for what’s ahead. If you’re thinking about making a move or just want to grab a coffee and talk, we’d love to hear from you.
Here’s to a wonderful end of summer, new beginnings, and staying connected.
With gratitude,
Kris and Joni Hutchinson
Four years ago, we took a leap, starting a small real estate business with a big commitment: to help people through one of the most important decisions of their lives.
Since then, we’ve had the honor of helping clients move into and out of Iowa, buy their first homes, sell their family homes, close chapters, and begin new ones. We’ve stood beside people as they said goodbye to the places they grew up in, navigated loss, downsized or upsized, or found the courage to chase something new. Every client, every transaction … it’s personal to us.
Let’s be honest: Running a business isn’t without challenges. The real estate world has changed over the past few years, and 2024 marked a 30-year low for home sales nationwide. We've felt those challenges firsthand. We’ve had to grow, adapt, and dig deep. And we have. Because we’re not in this for the short game, we’re here for the long haul.
We’ve learned more than we ever thought possible, not just about contracts and closings but also about resilience, communication, community, and the value of simply showing up when it counts.
To everyone who’s trusted us with your home, your story, and your next step, we thank you. We are so incredibly grateful to our clients, friends, and family who have trusted, referred, and supported us every step of the way. Your belief is why we get to do what we love, and we don’t take a single moment of it for granted. We’re beyond proud of what we’ve built, and we’re even more excited for what’s ahead.
As we look ahead, we're more inspired than ever to help even more people, whether it’s their first, next, or forever home. Here’s to more keys, more connections, and more homes that hold the lives and dreams of the people we’re lucky enough to work with.
Thank you for all the support,
Kris and Joni Hutchinson
